Top 10 Places to See in Cornwall
Located on a rocky peninsula, Cornwall exudes a Celtic vibe. The area is loaded with lovely villages, ancient sites, and historic monuments. Here's my list of top must-see destinations and attractions:
1) Tintagel --Has powerful connections with Arthurian Legend, such as its castle being the birthplace of King Arthur.
2) Tate Gallery --St. Ives hosts highly regarded London art museum.
3) Leach Pottery Museum --This museum celebrates Bernard Leach, who helped with the mid-20th-century British studio-pottery movements
4) Visit the Beach --St. Ives is surrounded by sandy beaches.
5) Newquay --This is a surf paradise for Brits, packed with six superb beaches for everyone who wants to ride the waves.
6) Eden Project --It's one of Cornwall's best known attractions, plus serves as a first-hand educational experience in biodiversity.
7) Lizard Point --Located at the most southerly point of UK, Lizard Point is weather-beaten and wild piece of land. You will enjoy a fine stroll and breathless views along here.
8) Men-an-tol --It's easily identified, consisting of four stones. The tall, holed stone is the most unusual one.
9) Lanyon Quoit --It dates back 3000 years BC. Archaeologists believe it played a major role in stone age death rites.
10) Chysauster --It's estimated to be the oldest village street in England, consisting of the remains of 8 stone dwellings.
These are just a few--my favorite sights.
